Hanneke Frese established FreseConsulting in 2005 to broaden the scope of her activities and support organizations, academia and individual leaders as they decide how to best position themselves in the future.
As an independent consultant Hanneke is active in the field of “think-tank” research to create a better understanding of the trends that shape the future of work, leadership, the employee value proposition, and similar topics. She has a deep interest in helping to make the next generation of leaders – both those managing businesses as well as Human Resources professionals – outstandingly successful. She works with business schools, universities and organizations to integrate this future thinking into today’s decisions.
Hanneke has extensive strategic and operational human resources experience gained at business and corporate level in global financial services organizations.
From 1972 to 1999 Hanneke worked for Citibank. She started her career in Human Resources in Amsterdam, was assigned to a Public Relations position at Citibank Brussels, after which she returned to a more senior Human Resources position in Amsterdam. From 1979 to 1985 she worked for Citibank in London in various Human Resources positions in Citibank’s Institutional, Investment and Private Bank. In 1998 she transferred to Citibank’s Private Bank based in Zurich where she became Division Human Resources Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa. In 1995 she was assigned to Citibank’s Head Office in New York as Manager Human Resources Strategy Development. Subsequently she had assignments as Head Expatriate Staffing and Leadership & Development Manager for Global Operations and Technology.
In 1999 Hanneke moved back to Switzerland and joined Zurich Financial Services as Chief Human Resources Officer of ZurichRe, its global reinsurance division. She was appointed to Head Group Capabilities for Zurich Financial Services world-wide and became a member of the Group Management Board in November 2000.
Hanneke is active in various organisations and holds the following positions:
• Member of the International Advisory Board of ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain
• Member of the Advisory Board and Student Project Advisor of the Executive Master in Human Resource Leadership, joint Program SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy), and Rutgers State University of New Jersey (USA)
• Associate Faculty – ZfU International Business School, Zurich, Switzerland
• Corporate member of EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) peer review team
Hanneke is a Dutch national and has studied languages at the State University of Antwerp, Belgium. She obtained a degree in Human Resources Management at the Foundation for Training and Social Welfare Work in Amsterdam. She has lived and worked successfully in five countries and is fluent in English, Dutch and German.
