He is a leadership and change management expert with more than 15 years of experience in senior executive positions. He is the founder of the HR consulting, coaching and training company peopleXpert. He also leads the Centre for Human Resources Management and Leadership at the University for Applied Sciences in Economics Zurich (HWZ).

Matthias Moelleney started his career with an apprenticeship at Lufthansa, served there in various management functions, mainly in the area of HRM. In 1998 he became Executive Vice President Human Resources Management and member of the executive board at Swissair. After Swissair’s bankruptcy in 2002, he served as Global Head of Human Resources Management and a member of the executive board for two other international companies, Centerpulse (medical devices) and Unaxis (high technology), before he founded his own company peopleXpert in 2006. Clients of peopleXpert include a wide range of companies and organizations in both the private and the public sector.

He is a well-known speaker, lecturer and author with a great deal of practical experience in leadership and change management. He had been in charge of Human Resources Management not only in times of rapid growth and competing for the best talent, but also during times of deep crisis: e.g. at Swissair after a tragic aircraft crash and later during the grounding of the entire fleet followed by around 30,000 redundancies.
